Amora Lounge & Bar Museum

Trocadero, London

2008

With its prime location in Central London’s Trocadero, off Piccadilly Circus, the Museum for Sexual Education wanted a bar that would allow the customer to enjoy an intimate space, reflecting the experience within the museum.

With a low budget, SAY Architect’s scheme uses off-the-shelf items assembled in such a way that the space is simultaneously glamorous and sociable, without losing its intimacy: Pockets of space are created with hanging gold chains and sheer curtains. Sensual imagery is projected onto these backdrops, creating a sense of intrigue and an erotic atmosphere which is further enhanced by lighting. French style furniture evokes a “boudoir” feel in the space.
