This residential project involved enlarging a ground floor flat with a side extension and refurbishing it completely internally. Extra space was gained by covering over an existing side passage and courtyard beside the house, and switching the front door location to this new covered passageway. The original internal corridor wall could then be removed, enlarging the footprint of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The existing rear extension was widened to the full width of the house and the addition of rooflights and large sliding glass doors has brought an abundance of light into this new kitchen-living-dining area.
