The Hunting Lodge

Warwickshire

2015

This four storey terraced Victorian house, located in Camden, London, required a full refurbishment including a rear full width extension on the lower ground floor level. The clients are a couple with two sons - the husband is an artist specialising in print work.

His artwork is mainly in A1 format; therefore, one of the main requirements was to allow for a space that would store the prints and make them easily accessible for viewing. SAY Architects decided to introduce a bespoke floor-to-ceiling joinery unit running along the entire wall from kitchen to storage space, that would hold all the prints horizontally in drawers.

The kitchen and extension represent the most important part of the house for the family as this is where food and art comes together - two aspects that highly influenced the design.
